Food to Needy
Serving Annadhaanam to all visiting devotees about 1000-3000 people on Thursdays and Sundays whoever come to the temple. Moreover, on special festivals the number goes up to 5000-6000 however, on every New Year day the crowd goes up to 10,000. In all these days, temple provides adequate annadhaanam (like meal) to all visiting devotees. We are serving all the visitors of the temple from morning to till night.
DRINKING WATER BOOTH
The temple constructed a drinking water booth on 12.5.2014 in the JIPMER campus and providing pure acquaguard water to visitors and patients. It is helping over 2500 people daily by providing hot, cold and normal water in the hospital with the help of three regular staff working from 6am to 9 pm for which there was no provision.
FREE MARRIAGES
The temple helps the poor people who do not have any facility or who cannot afford to celebrate their marriage by providing a place to celebrate their marriage and also providing “Thaali” (Mangala Sutram), all household articles normally given by the parents but provided by the temple for running a family and also providing food to all their relatives and devotees those who are attending the marriage. The minimum expenditure for a marriage will go upto Rs. 75,000 for each couple. Several of such marriages were taken place every year since 2013. Anyone can approach the temple manager and get their marriage date fixed.
SCHOLARSHIPS SCHEME
Temple helps and encourages over 100 poor and meritorious students in their studies by providing scholarships every year. The temple is providing about 7-10 lakhs worth of scholarships with the help of Thiru K.V. Ramani and others philanthropists since 2014. Temple also distributes notebooks, and materials to poor and needy students in the villages in and around Pondicherry.
FREE MEDICAL CAMP
Baba temple started free medical camp on 21.1.2016 initially to mothers and children and later extended to all needy people. The free medical camp is organized on all Thursdays with the help of Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) medical team. In each camp, 250-300 patients are getting free treatment such as diagnostics, consultation, screening, lab tests, free medicines, and free hospitalization.
NAGARA SANKEERTANA
Temple arranges ‘Nagara Sankeertana’ every year on December 15th at 5 AM starting from Vinayagar Temple, Muthialpet to Sai Baba temple, Pillai Chavadi covering the distance of 9 kilometers. The number of devotees participating in this event is going up in thousands for the past 20 years.
GOSALA
The MOTO of Gosala is to protect cows from slaughter and safe guard the cows till death and give a ritual burial. With the same moto, during the year 2012, temple started GOSALA project to protect the old, sick and stray cows that are not attended by anyone in the society. At present the temple has got 15 cows and calfs which are taken care by providing food, water and day-to-day maintenance.
FLOOD RELIEF CAMPS
The Temple also arranged flood relief camps to flood affected areas and provided food, clothes and other things to many people at Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu in the year 2015.
